Inventory & variants

Add products, manage variants (sizes and weights), bulk-import from CSV, run stock takes, and track batches and expiry.

Inventory is the backbone of Omnix. Get this right and POS, reports, and eTIMS all follow.

Adding a product

Open Inventory → Add Product. The barcode field auto-focuses, so you can scan straight away. Fill in name, category, buying and selling price, and your reorder level.

Variants — same product, different size or weight

Many products come in multiple sizes: maize flour at 2kg, 5kg, 10kg; cooking oil at 500ml, 1L, 5L. Click the Variants button (layers icon) on any product row.

Each variant has: - its own name (e.g. "10kg") - its own SKU (auto-generated if you leave it blank) - its own price (leave blank to inherit the product's price) - its own stock count

At the till, scanning or selecting the product shows a picker so the cashier rings up the exact size at the exact price.

Bulk import

Have hundreds of products? Use Inventory → Import CSV. Download the template, fill it in Excel, and upload. Columns: name, sku, barcode, unit, buying_price, selling_price, initial_stock, reorder_level, tax_rate.

Stock takes

Run a physical count under Stock Take. Count each item, enter the counted quantity, and Omnix shows the variance. Apply the adjustments to write the corrections into inventory with a full audit trail.

Batches and expiry

For pharmacies and perishables, track batches with expiry dates. Omnix warns you when stock is near expiry and uses FEFO (first-expiry-first-out) at the till.
