Paper stock and account books
We first agree what must be keyed in, what can remain as an archive and who will verify the resulting opening figures.
Analytics
Can we measure anonymous page visits? It shows us which pages help people choose Omnix. Nothing personal is sent, and the analytics script loads only if you accept.
Migration planning
From paper books, spreadsheets or another POS, the safe move starts by deciding what matters, preserving the original and checking the result before the first live sale.
Starting points
We do not describe manual transcription, spreadsheet cleanup and system exports as if they were the same migration.
We first agree what must be keyed in, what can remain as an archive and who will verify the resulting opening figures.
We inspect headers, units, duplicates and missing fields before agreeing a mapping. The original files remain untouched.
Migration depends on the exports your current provider makes available and the quality of the records inside them.
Controlled cutover
Each step leaves something reviewable behind. Exceptions stay visible until a person with business context resolves them.
List the records you need on day one, the history you need only for reference, your branches and the intended cutover date.
Output · Written scope and ownerTake source-system exports and backups before changing or cleaning anything. Paper records are photographed or retained as agreed.
Output · Untouched source copyMatch source columns and categories to Omnix fields using a representative sample. Unclear values are flagged instead of guessed.
Output · Mapping and exception listLoad the agreed records, then compare counts, stock values, balances and spot checks against the preserved source.
Output · Validation worksheetChoose the final trading boundary, capture changes since the sample and have the business owner approve opening figures before live use.
Output · Owner sign-offValidation
Before cutover, compare the new records with the preserved source. The checks depend on scope, but they normally include counts, totals and a sample of individual records.
Honest boundaries
Discovery is where we find these limits—not after you have committed to a cutover date.
For discovery
A representative sample lets us see the exceptions early and discuss a realistic scope.
